Facilities Manager | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $89,000 - $135,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive preventative and reactive maintenance programs for all facility infrastructure and production equipment.
• Manage the facilities budget, overseeing operational expenses, capital expenditures, and procurement for services and equipment.
• Ensure strict compliance with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
• Oversee contractor and vendor relationships, negotiating service agreements and monitoring performance for facilities-related services.
• Lead and manage facilities-related projects, including renovations, expansions, and new equipment installations, from inception to completion.
• Implement strategies for energy efficiency, utility management, and sustainable waste reduction across the manufacturing plant.
• Develop and maintain robust emergency preparedness and business continuity plans for the manufacturing site.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in facilities management, with a significant portion in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical field.
• Strong technical knowledge of industrial HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems.
• In-depth understanding of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, and building codes relevant to manufacturing facilities.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, negotiate vendor contracts, and lead facility-related projects.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) optimization.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• OSHA 30-hour General Industry certification.
