Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine calibration and verification of measurement tools and equipment.
• Conduct precise dimensional inspections of manufactured components using CMMs, optical comparators, and hand tools.
• Maintain and troubleshoot metrology equipment, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy.
• Document all calibration activities, measurement results, and inspection data accurately.
• Develop and optimize measurement processes and fixtures for new and existing products.
• Analyze measurement data to identify trends, potential issues, and support root cause analysis.
• Ensure all metrology activities comply with relevant quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 17025).

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in operating and interpreting results from various precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, CMMs).
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with calibration procedures and understanding of measurement uncertainty principles.
• Associate's degree in Metrology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Familiarity with metrology software for data collection, analysis, and CMM programming.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced measurement technologies (e.g., laser trackers, structured light scanners, vision systems).
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for model-based inspection.
• Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and data analysis.
• ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification.
