- Pay starts at $17.44 per hour

Summary: A detail-oriented Pupil Accounting Secretary is responsible for accurate student data management and state reporting in a fast-paced high school environment. This position also provides support to the principal, assistant principals, and the school office at Dexter High School.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possess, or willingness to obtain, MSBO Pupil Accounting Certification
- Demonstrated computer experience and technology skills including word processing, database and spreadsheet applications
- Demonstrated fiscal responsibility
- Demonstrated experience in general office procedures and machines
- Organize and complete quality work in a timely fashion
- Willingness to keep updated with technology changes as related to the position
- Interpersonal and judgmental skills necessary to work effectively with parents, staff, and public
- Ability to interact positively with children and adults
- Must maintain a positive attitude and be a team player
- Possess excellent organizational, problem solving, communication and telephone skills
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze situations and make logical decisions
- Ability to set, manage, and coordinate multiple priorities
- Ability to take initiative and work independently without direct supervision
- Ability to maintain tact and diplomacy under stressful situations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding information of a sensitive nature
- Ability to calculate and process payroll
Essential Job Functions:
- Proficient in Powerschool reporting
- Graduation and drop out (GAD) state reporting
- Prepare, submit, and verify student data submissions for required state reports: 3 general collections, Teacher Student Data Link (TSDL), Student Record Maintenance (SRM), Graduation and Drop Out (GAD)
- Manage the pupil accounting process and prepare reports for high school, including Alternative Education, Early Middle College, Mckinney-Vento, Special Populations (i.e., English Learner (EL), Co-op, Homebound/hospitalized, home-schooled, Virtual 50D) log entries, seclusion/restraint, special education, and virtual and international programs
- Provide effective student data management
- Require handling sensitive and confidential data
- Prioritize and manages multiple tasks including telephone calls, emails and other communications
- Backup AESOP system for calling building substitutes when necessary
- Obtain, gather, organize, and maintain pertinent confidential data in computer and paper files, including reports in Powerschool
- Register new students
- Generate and maintain accountable attendance, student records and data using proper student database
- Maintain an organized regular filing system of confidential files, incoming correspondence,
purchase orders, and account transactions - Generate Extra Duty/overload reports as requested
- Notary Public – Must currently hold a valid Notary Public commission or be willing to obtain
- Assist students, parents, and guests as needed
- Process report cards and progress reports
- Assist in administering medicine and first aid to students and maintaining medication logs
- Maintain confidentiality regarding information of a sensitive nature
- Maintain data including student archival records
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bending, lifting, and overhead work required
- Attendance and punctuality to assignment required
