The Lakehouse Bakery is a small, locally-owned scratch bakery in Chelsea. We're hiring a bread baker.

What you'd be doing:

• Mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking sourdoughs, buns, and a rotating bread lineup
• Maintaining our sourdough starters and preferments
• Following recipes and holding the line on consistency — taste, texture, crust
• Bringing ideas — new breads, better processes. Your input matters here.
• Keeping the kitchen clean and food-safe
• Working with our team to hit daily production + wholesale orders

What we're looking for:

• 1-3 years bread baking experience — sourdough required
• Attention to detail
• Pride in your work
• Comfortable with early starts (5-6 AM)
• Physical work — lifting 50 lbs, on your feet
• Reliable transportation to Chelsea
• Reliable. Shows up. Communicates. No exceptions.
• ServSafe a plus, not required

• Honest pay. $15-17/hr to start. Raises tied to skill and reliability — not vibes, not seniority politics. We won't promise you things we can't deliver. We will promise you the work itself is worth showing up for.
