Salary Range: $46,000 - $75,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment, including wire and sinker EDM.
• Load, edit, and optimize NC programs for EDM operations to achieve precise part specifications.
• Monitor EDM processes, adjusting parameters such as voltage, current, and pulse duration to maintain quality.
• Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments to ensure adherence to blueprint tolerances.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and cleaning of EDM machines and electrodes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine malfunctions or process deviations.
• Manage and maintain inventory of electrodes, wire, and other consumables.

Recommended Qualifications

• Experience operating and setting up Wire or Sinker EDM machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and GD&T.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
• Basic understanding of G-code and M-code for machine operation and minor adjustments.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality control and adherence to manufacturing safety protocols.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with other precision machining processes (e.g., CNC milling, grinding).
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for program review or minor adjustments.
• Proficiency in advanced metrology equipment, such as CMMs or optical comparators.
• Demonstrated ability in basic preventative maintenance or complex troubleshooting of EDM equipment.
• Prior experience with different types of EDM (e.g., Wire EDM if the role focuses on Sinker EDM, or vice-versa).
