Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Permitting Specialist to join a growing telecommunications and infrastructure company. This role focuses on coordinating and tracking permits for both commercial and residential projects. You will collaborate closely with project managers, municipalities, and third-party agencies to ensure permits are processed accurately and in a timely manner. This opportunity arises from company growth and offers a chance to be part of a close-knit team of approximately 57 employees.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit comprehensive permit packages.

• Track permit statuses and timelines diligently.

• Maintain strong relationships with municipal contacts.

• Communicate updates effectively to internal teams.

• Ensure all documentation is organized and accurate.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in permitting processes and blueprint interpretation.

• Experience coordinating permits with municipalities and other agencies.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Ability to track multiple permits simultaneously.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).

• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Familiarity with Telecom, AutoCAD, zoning, and wireless technologies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.

• Willingness to travel locally as needed for permit drop-off or pickup.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

• Experience in telecom or civil construction (field or office-based) is a plus.

• AutoCAD 2D experience is advantageous.

• Experience with Smartsheet or similar project-tracking software.

• Prior permitting experience for commercial and residential projects is beneficial.

Work Environment

Join a growing company with a strong presence in the Midwest. This is a fully remote role with company-provided equipment, offering exposure to both commercial and residential projects. The role requires 40-50 hours per week based on project workload and supports projects across Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky. Enjoy quarterly in-person or virtual employee meetings and work in a collaborative environment with project managers, field teams, and leadership. This position offers the opportunity to transition from field experience into an office-based role.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Macomb, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
