Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Location: Iron Mountain, MI 49801 (Michigan healthcare job)
• Assignment Length: 13-week locum tenens contract
• Start Date: September 2, 2025
• End Date: December 2, 2025
• Setting: Hospital – Respiratory Therapy Unit
• Shifts: 3x12-hour rotating shifts per week (07:00-19:00 and 19:00-07:00); every weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2130-$2190
• First-time travelers and experienced respiratory therapists welcome!

Certified Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Active CRT or RRT credential from the NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care)
• Current Michigan State Respiratory Therapist License
• BLS and NRP certifications (AHA required)
• Associate degree from an accredited respiratory care program
• Meets NBRC certification and registration requirements
• Preferred: ACLS, PALS, CPFT, RPFT certifications
• Fingerprinting required for Michigan healthcare placements
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory care to patients of all ages: neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and interpretation
• Administer and monitor aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
• Assist with intubations, extubations, and airway management, including neonatal and pediatric patients
• Support high-risk deliveries and respond to emergency situations
• Utilize Paragon/Allscripts for acute care charting and T-System for emergency department documentation
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with the hospital healthcare team
• Float within the hospital as needed to provide clinical support
• Comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
